The Penticton Airport is a smaller airport located between Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake and is just minutes away from the Okanagan city of Penticton BC.
Air Canada Jazz provides 4 daily flights to and from the Vancouver International Airport.
It gives the air traveler a choice if they are planning on visiting just the South Okanagan.
There is the the Kelowna International Airport a little farther to the north that also services air traffic for the Okanagan Valley region.

There is also a small restaurant inside the airport to satisfy your hunger if you are waiting around for any amount of time for your flight.
The plans for the constuction of the Penticton Regional Airport began back in 1937. The actual construction began in 1940 and it was completed and ready to open in 1941.

The Penticton Airport (YYF) is definitely an airport to consider if you are planning to make a trip to Vancouver BC or if you are coming from there into the Okanagan.
There has been talk recently of direct-flight connections to BC's neighbour to the east, Alberta.
This would be another reason for more travelers to use this wonderful airport as an alternative to the Kelowna Airport.
