Peachland, BC from abovePeachland is a small waterfront village located in the South Okanagan. Situated off of Highway 97 on the western shores of Okanagan Lake, it is 29 km (18 miles) north of Summerland and 34 km (21 miles) southwest of Kelowna. The community stretches over 8 kms (5 miles) along the sandy beaches of the lake.

This little town offers several restaurants and outdoor patio coffee shops to choose from for your dining pleasure.

There are also a variety of unique shops and stores to wander in to as you stroll through the area.

The historic and heritage buildings in Peachland include an original 1907 log cabin, the Greata Packinghouse, the March Residence and the Little Schoolhouse that was built in 1898.

For such a small place there are still some exciting things to see and to do in your visit to Peachland.

Following are just a few of the things that I have experienced when I have stayed here.

I hope you get the chance to enjoy some of these too when you make a stop in this little Okanagan town.






Spend a day or two discovering some of the great parks in this area.

  • Heritage Park Located in the heart of Peachland this park is situated on an open grass lawn near a wharf. Very popular with families as there is a playground with picnic tables.

    An awesome spot to just sit and watch all of the water activities happening on Okanagan Lake.

  • Hardy Falls Regional Park Located at the south end of town. A well maintained 1 km hiking trail leads to the falls.

    The waterfall park has a salmon spawning river named Deep Creek. Great for hiking and enjoying some spectacular scenery!

  • Antlers Beach Regional Park Very popular spot as it is just off of the highway but sheltered by some Ponderosa Pine trees that shade a picnic area.

    There is a pebbled beach where you can get great views of Okanagan Lake. You can also see Rattlesnake Island off of Squally Point on the far side of the lake.

    Keep an eye out for Ogopogo, as this is where the legendary lake monster is said to have its home.

  • Pincushion Mountain Park Hike the great trails here up to the summit. Most hikers can make it to the top in less than an hour. Bring some food and enjoy a picnic along with the awesome views!

    Rattlesnake Island home to the Ogopogo
  • Rattlesnake Island Besides the possible sighting of Ogopogo coming out of one of the underwater caves he is said to live in, many boaters love to explore the dark, deep waters surrounding this island.

    Many of these boaters bring their camping gear and camp out overnight on the island.

    There are some excellent shaded footpaths to hike along and get beautiful views of Hardy Falls.

  • Ponderosa Golf & Country Club An 18-hole golf course that is fun to play on for any golfer. It is located at the base of Pincushion Mountain.

    After a round on the links enjoy another type of round at the Ponderosa Bar. It is one of the largest log structures in Western Canada!

  • Hainle Vineyards Estate Winery Visit this unique organic winery where everything here is grown chemical free. It is also recognized as being the first winery in North America to produce Ice Wine.

    Greata Ranch Vineyard in Peachland, BC

  • Greata Ranch Estate Winery This winery was once a historic orchard that was established in 1896. Make sure to visit "The Verandah".

    The breathtaking views from here are unbelievable. Enjoy some wine and cheese as you relax and look below on the vineyards, lake and mountains beyond.

    This is Okanagan Valley beauty at its best!

  • Parrot Island Sanctuary A must stop on any visit to this town. This facility is a unique sanctuary for unwanted and abused exotic birds. There are over 85 parrots, cockatoos and macaws here for you to view. It is quite the experience.

  • Swim Bay A favourite for beach goers in the heat of the summer. Along with swimming there is a wharf with docks, diving boards, a zip line and hanging ropes.

    Peachland Museum in Peachland, BC

  • Peachland Museum This historic landmark was constructed in 1910 as a Baptist church.

    It is unusual in that it was built with eight sides. Come on in and browse through the exhibits of artifacts and photographs.






    Whether you want to camp outdoors or stay in a motel, hotel or of course many of the bed and breakfast establishments, there are several accommodation options available here.
