Kaleden, BC A Vacation Getaway
Kaleden is a small community located in the South Okanagan Valley just 13 km (8 miles) south of Penticton, BC and 47 km (29 miles) north of Osoyoos, BC.
It sits on the east side of the gorgeous Skaha Lake. Hwy 97 runs through the town so it is a favourite spot for travelers to stop in. Kaleden has a small population base of just under 1200 people. There is plenty of room for the many visitors that flock here in the summer months. There are still many quiet spots to be found where one can relax and enjoy the outdoors in peaceful surroundings. Take a canoe ride or go for a hike. Or just lounge at the beach. Whatever you desire you will find here! Kaleden, BC is another is another Okanagan town to visit and enjoy

Best Things To Do
Kaleden has its share of activities and places to see. The beach There is a nice sandy beach at Skaha Lake. Out on the lake there is a raft float that will keep the kids happy for hours.Biking you can bike anywhere around the town. For an excellent road bike route take White Lake Road. You can experience part of the bike route that is taken in the famous
Penticton Ironman Triathlon
that takes place in late August of every year.Camping There are a couple of great camping spots in the area. Banbury Green RV and Camping Resort is an affordable family vacation getaway. The campground has 65 sites split into 6 areas. There are some lakeside sites available with fire pits at each one of them. Depending on size most sites will accommodate a tent or an RV. This resort is pet friendly so bring along your family pet so they can enjoy all the fun of camping too! For a little different camping experience book a site at Camp-Along Tent and Trailer Resort. This family campground is perched overlooking Skaha Lake in an apricot and pear orchard. The lake may be a little hike to get to from here but there is a heated pool here for you to enjoy. If you are here at the right time of year and when the organic fruit is ripe you can just grab one right off the trees. Yummy! Golfing Golfers of all levels will love playing at the St. Andrews By-The-Lake golf course. This is a mid-length course that includes a challenging island green with a miniature bridge.Watch out for the deer and other wildlife that wander on to the course from time to time. Linden Gardens and Frog City Cafe
. The area is a 9 acre garden of flowers, trees, shrubs, ponds and streams. In the heart of Linden Gardens is the Frog City Cafe items along with an espresso bar. It is a favourite location for many weddings held in the South Okanagan. Open from April to October of each year.  There are two historical buildings located in the town. The Hotel Kaleden is a landmark you can't miss. Built in 1910, this hotel fell on hard times around the first world war. It was closed and anything that was salvageable was stripprd from the building. The concrete shell that is left is quite a sight and a must camera shot for anyone's photo album. The neighbouring Lakeview General Store, formerly the Kaleden General Store, used to house the 1912 Restaurant and Bistro. It is definitely another neat, old building. Fruit stands As with any of the communities in the South Okanagan in the summer there are several fruit stands in and around the town. Freshly picked fruit and vegetables are available for you to enjoy every day. You haven't really tried fruit until you have tasted Okanagan fruit! Skiing There are plenty of things to do here in winter too. Head up to Apex Ski Resort near Penticton, BC for some fun in the snow. Or head a little further south to Mount Baldy Ski Resort outside of Oliver, BC. Downhill skiing, snowboarding or cross country skiing. Whatever you fancy can be had at these resorts.
Many of the accommodations here are perched along sides of rolling hills around Skaha Lake. Views of all the vineyards here are outstanding.Kaleden offers some of the best bed and breakfasts in all of the Okanagan. So make sure to stop in and stay awhile in this small town. It is just another piece of paradise that is the Okanagan Valley!
