Driving Directions USA Routes To The Okanagan
Driving Directions USA helps you plan different travel routes from the US to the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia Canada. I have selected some popular US locations that people may come from to visit the Okanagan. And I chose Kelowna BC as the destination as it is the hub city of the Okanagan. With the help of USA Google Maps I can show you the best highways to take to make your trip a memorable one. Google Maps is a wonderful tool that gives you the option of choosing what you think would be the best route for you to take to get into Canada and the Okanagan. You will love using Google Maps. It is fun and easy to use!
Drive From Seattle Washington
The drive from Seattle has a few driving directions USA routes you can take to get to the Okanagan. There is the Interstate 5 (I-5) in the United States that heads north and connects with the Trans Canada Hwy (Hwy 1) into Canada. You will need to pass through customs at the Abbotsford/Sumas Canada US border crossing on this route. Another route you can take is the I-5 southeast and eventually merges into US-97. This will become Hwy 97 north heading towards Kelowna. The Canada US border that you will go through here is the Osoyoos/Oroville crossing. I have found this US Canadian border crossing to rarely have any delays or line-ups.
Drive From Chicago Illinois
A trip from Chicago to the Okanagan is a bit of a distance and there are several States to pass through before you arrive in Canada and the Okanagan. Driving USA highways sometimes involves going through tolls, especially if you are traveling through many States to get to your destination. There are a few routes you can follow and they all basically take the same amount of time to get to
Kelowna BC.
These routes all come to the Cascade/Laurier crossing, the Canada US border crossing you pass through for customs and duties as you leave Washington State and enter British Columbia.
Drive From Los Angeles California
I had to put in this Google map from Los Angeles California to Kelowna BC. I took a trip many years ago when I was in my early 20's (yes - many, many years ago) from Vancouver BC to Los Angeles. It still remains one of the best trips I have ever taken by car. I actually took a trip a few years earlier on an Amtrak passenger train to California. This was a lot of fun, too. It is quite the trip and a way to see the beauty of Washington State and Oregon in the Pacific Northwest and the State of California. You can take the Interstate 5 (I-5) route which will get you to the Okanagan a little faster. But if you want to experience one of the most scenic and beautiful trips you can imagine you will want to take Hwy 1 from California. This highway becomes Hwy 101 as you go farther north and eventually connects with the Trans Canada Hwy (Hwy 1) once you enter into Canada. It takes a little longer but believe me when I say it is well worth the extra drive! Either way you will cross either the Peace Arch or Pacific Highway Canada US border crossings at Blaine Washington.
